Children are given opportunity to find out about a variety of career opportunities through visiting speakers, visits and as part of the school curriculum.
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education (SMSC) is an important part of every child’s education regardless of their religious views or beliefs. We cover this aspect of education throughout the curriculum and extra-curricular activities. It is about British Values, being a good citizen, recognising our rights and our responsibilities, understanding and respecting other people who may have different views or ways of living. Examples of this are:
- Learning about different cultures and beliefs, in this country and across the world. We are doing this through the teaching of R.E and the wider curriculum.
- The School Council learns how to work in a democracy and how to vote, they also learn how to represent their class when they go to meetings.
- Assemblies cover a wide range of topics. All the assemblies have a SMSC element and also celebrates learning and success of the students.
Our PSHE curriculum covers a range of subject areas relevant to life in Britain today and follows current guidelines. It is designed to equip our children to deal effectively with their relationships, feelings, health and well being and to understand how they can play a valuable part of life in modern Britain.
