Extra-Curricular provision at Norwich Road Academy

We provide a variety of enriching activities outside the classroom and across the year.  There are a range of opportunities, for all ages and abilities.  These include music, sports and academic activities, led by our school staff, external music tutors and Premier Education.

Norwich Road Academy Choir

We have a very successful choir.  This is led and organised by our Music Lead, Miss Hilder.  They have performed at a number of venues locally, including the Thetford Christmas lights switch on and the Royal Norfolk Show.

Rocksteady Music School

Rocksteady provide fun and inclusive in-school rock and pop band lessons, for children from Reception, to Year 6. No experience or instrument required.  These lessons are chargeable, with payment directly made to Rocksteady.  Lessons are during the school day, with performances for parents at the end of each term.  More information can be found here.

Music Tuition

Through working with our partners, Thetford Music Project, we are able to provide instrument tuition.  This is a chargeable service.  If you are interested in this for your child, please contact our office

Sports Clubs

Mrs Jeanes, our Norwich Road Academy PE specialist, offers a variety of extra-curricular clubs across the year.  In addition to her sports qualifications, she is an experienced and committed member of Thetford Town Hockey Club. Some of our children have attended club here and gone on to join the hockey club! (You can find out more about the club by following this link: Thetford Town Hockey Club| Play field hockey | )

We also have a long-standing relationship with Premier Education.  They are able to enhance our offer of sporting opportunities for children here.
