Children at Norwich Road Academy take part in school-organised swimming lessons for the summer term in Year 3 and the autumn term in Year 4. These sessions take place at Breckland Leisure Centre. Children will develop more confidence in the water, understand how to be safe around water and be taught to use a range of strokes effectively, with the aim of being able to swim at least 25m confidently. At the end of each term's swimming lessons, children are assessed to see how far they can swim. We celebrate their achievements with certificates in assembly.
